Presently Speaking…
I’m making my way through the last of Francine River’s Mark of the Lion series. In efforts to not ruin any of the story for me I am meticulous about marking where I left off. If I lose my place I always look from where I’ve read to where I haven’t in finding my lost spot. It occurred to me in this that in the same way I wouldn’t wish to ruin the end to this good story I’m reading, I am completely opposite to this when it comes to my own story. I’m always trying to cheat ways to see the future, to see the end result. I pray, and I read into things that will be of any aid to what is going to happen next. I should however, heed the lesson of reading and take one sentence at a time, one moment at a time.
Reading, I find that I pay close attention to every detail given me in the sentence I read. I come to a complete understanding of what I’m reading at that moment so that I am fully equipped to understand the next sentence. Makes sense right? Then why in my life do I rush forward way too quickly without grasping hold first of what is going on right now? God, in His great wisdom, created the moment He gave me now to equip me for the next moment; this season is preparing me for the next season of life. Not only is preparation found in being present full, but appreciation and worship is found in this. How can I appreciate something that I haven’t gotten to yet? As His word says we are to worship Him in everything we do, so how can I worship God for something He hasn’t done yet? Tomorrow is not mine yet, nor is it guaranteed. As I take in each moment I can see the beauty of the Lord. I can appreciate His faithfulness to me in this day. I can be renewed, lessons having been understood, and move onto the richer glory that is waiting me in Christ. As the 2 corinthians 3:18 says, we go from “glory to glory” by the Spirit of the Lord. Every moment can be a little ‘glory’ that the Lord gives us. How amazing is He that He takes us from glory to glory on this earth, only then to ultimately usher us into His eternal glory!since no post is complete without a picture, and this being my first post EVER… I thought I’d show you what the cover of this book is that I’m reading. Francine is a hoot for allowing this! I covered it with some pretty scrapbook paper ;)
